Abstract
A basic description of intermodal interference which follows possibility investigation of intermodal interference in spectral and space region. There is also a brief description of equipments used for such investigation and some illustrations of obtained results. There is pointed in the latest paragraphs on different possibilities how the intermodal interference investigation can give some information about refractive index profile in the investigated fibre.
